One of the old medical colleges running in India through different regulations, to train doctors in a variety of specialist fields.

History

Scottish sisters Martha Rose Greenfield and Kay Greenfield named the medical institute in Ludhiana in 1881. In 1893, Dame Edith Mary Brown joined them. The North Indian School of Medicine for Christian Women was founded in the following year. The Department of Medicine had enough teachers and services in 1964. It was then further upgraded to train PG students in medicine – the M.D. degree. The college is currently affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The university offers both speciality and super speciality degrees in all major branches .

CMC Ludhiana has coordination with the following colleges:

CMC Ludhiana offers over 50 medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, and Bsc Nursing. These courses include undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. It also grants postgraduate diplomas in a variety of fields.

 

Achievements

The National Institutional Ranking Framework ranked CMC 18 among medical colleges in India in 2020. CMC Ludhiana ranked 28th by India Today in 2020. On 13th by Outlook India among the medical colleges of India in 2019. In 2021, CAREERS360 ranked CMC Ludhiana 7th among Medical colleges in India.

The hospital’s Psychiatry Department is combating Punjab’s substance abuse crisis. 

 

Documents for MBBS and BDS

  • Class 10th Marksheet 10+1 and 10+2 Mark Sheets NEET Hall Ticket and Score Card

  • Certificate of Migration (Not applicable for students passing from Punjab State Education Board)

  • Certificates of Character and Behavior from School/College Domicile Certificate 4 stamp photographs

  • Students from the SC/ST/OBC castes will receive a caste certificate.

  • Affidavits Against Bullying

  • Affidavit by College Declaration form concerning college rules

Admission Process

  • All qualified candidates must apply online at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.

  • Such students are assigned dates for counseling at BFUHS based on their Merit ranks in the NEET UG programme, where they must submit the required documents.

  • Christian Minority with Service Commitment must submit a copy of their completed BFUHS application to the Registrar, CMC Ludhiana.

  • Baptism Certificate, Church Membership Certificate, Affidavit of Service, Letter of Service Commitment, and Domicile details are also required for such candidates.

  • All Christian Minority with Service Commitment candidates must apply online to CMC Ludhiana and pass the Bible Test with a minimum of 40%.

  • The candidate must provide the necessary information and documents.

  • All enclosures, along with the Admission form, must be submitted to the Registrar of the CMC Ludhiana Society.

  • Applicants must choose a test center for the Bible test.

  • The Hall Tickets can be obtained from the CMC website.

  • A candidate of Christian Minority with Service Commitment is eligible for admission after completing the Bible Test and Application Process.

  • The Merit List for all other categories will be posted on the BFUHS website.

 

Intake for MBBS AND BDS

There are 75 seats available for MBBS.

48 of the 75 slots are reserved for Christian Minority Candidates.

There are 12 seats available in the Open Category.

NRI candidates are eligible for 11 seats.

The remainder are for other categories.

There are 40 seats available for BDS.

Christian Minority Candidates will be assigned 24 seats.

There are 8 seats available in the Open category.

Six seats are reserved for non-resident Indians.

The remaining seats are then assigned to the remaining categories.
