A Plea to Postpone NEET PG 2022 Exam

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test PG 2022 Exam will be held on May 21, 2022. The Registration for NEET PG 2022 ended on March 25, 2022. Around 2 Lakh candidates have registered for the Examination.

The doctors claimed a Plea to postpone the NEET PG Exam 2022. As per the doctor’s request, Advocates Ashutosh Dubey and Abhishek Chauhan have filed a Petition to postpone the NEET PG Exam. The matter has been referred to the bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and PS Narasimha by Senior Advocate Rakesh Khanna.

Reason For NEET PG 2022 Postpone Request
Doctors urged to reschedule the NEET PG Exam 2022 due to a Possible conflict with NEET PG 2021. Doctors are petitioners who are undergoing their requisite internship at different hospitals across the country.

The petitioners intend to take the NEET-PG examination 2022 on May 2 to choose their career option based on their ranking, choice, and the options available to them under different branches of medical science for PG Courses”.

Plea Heard for NEET PG postponement By SC

Supreme Court of India agrees to hear on May 13 doctors’ plea for postponement of NEET-PG 2022. The plea has been filed by 15 doctors who completed their MBBS Courses. it said that Petitioners are participants in NEET PG 2021 ongoing counseling Process. It is believed that the Counselling process will get concluded by May 9, 2022.

NEET PG-2022 was to be held on May 21 according to a notification issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences on February 4. The petition seeks to quash the notification or defer the examination date.

According to the petitioner, the petitioners are no longer allowed to fill out forms for the NEET-PG 2022 examination. If candidates would not receive seat allocations for 2021 examination counseling, nor would they be able to register for the 2022 examination, and thus would waste a year without their fault.

The plea sought to reschedule and notify a new date of examination for NEET-PG 2022 after eight weeks. It results that NEET-PG 2021 exam counseling issue will get resolved. It also ensures that there is no overlap with the NEET-PG 2022 exam.

The decision of SC – NEET PG Postponement

The Supreme Court on Friday declined the request to reschedule the NEET-PG-22 examination. The Supreme court mentioned that “More than two lakh students have registered to attend the NEET PG-22 examination. Students will get affected if a further postponement is granted.

A bench of Justices said the postponement of the examination would affect students who have registered for the examination. It tells the delay would seriously affect patient care. it also results in chaos and uncertainty”.

There would be no reason for the court to interfere in matters of the policy unless the court finds that the authorities decided without considering relevant circumstances or in an inhumane manner.
