ROLE OF STUDENTS IN ERADICATING ILLITERACY
BY:Karuna/Karan
Only two states have achieved a literacy rate of hundred percent, according to the 2011 census. Illiteracy is found mainly among the old and deprived sections of society. Let’s discuss the role of youth in eradicating illiteracy.
Due to unawareness and poverty, most backward section people do not send their children to school. It results in illiteracy. To bring those children to school, educated students must demand government officials to take the necessary steps for their education. Students must collect funds from the people to remove their poverty. If poverty gets removed, parents will send their children to schools automatically. Educated students must inspire uneducated students to go to school.
Students must provide basic stationaries for those students. Educated students must tell those backward students how education will change their lives if they pursue it. Educated students must volunteer to teach those students in their free time.
If students implement these measures, they can eradicate illiteracy in India. It will be an example for the students of other countries too.
