What is JEST Exam:

JEST(Joint Entrance Screening Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for MSc, Ph.D., and Integrated MTech/MSc- Ph.D. programs, once a year. This exam is organised by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and is conducted across 38 cities in India in the offline mode.

JEST is now recognized as the Net Eligibility Test (NET) by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB).


How to apply for admission?

1. Eligible candidates are required to visit the official website https://www.jest.org.in/.

2. Fill in the Username and password and log in to apply for the JEST registration form online.

3. Submit the fee through net banking or debit/debit/ smart card. Only online mode is accepted.

4. Candidates can download their admit cards before the examination from the official website only.


What is JEST exam eligibility?

Candidates who want to pursue MSc, MTech, and Ph.D. in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, Computational Biology are eligible to register for the JEST examination.

NOTE: There is no age limit to appear in JEST.

What subjects are in theJEST exam syllabus?

JEST is conducted in three subjects namely:

  • Physics

  • Mathematics

  • Theoretical Computer Science

  • Check the result with full hope.


JEST Exam Cutoff:

To be shortlisted for the next phase, that is, the interview, the candidate should obtain the minimum marks in the written examination to reach the cutoff score.
