All About National Sanskrit University  

National Sanskrit University’s other name is Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Central  University which is located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. This University was set up in  1956 under the Ministry of Education by the Government of India. This University was  initiated to promote Sanskrit Studies, traditional Sastras, and Pedagogy. And, this is a  Government Institute.

Chancellor of National Sanskrit University is N.Gopalaswami and Vice-Chancellor is  Radhakant Thakur. 

This University provides traditional courses in Sanskrit, Sahitya, Nyaya, Agama, Sankhya Yoga,  Mimamsa, Dvaita Vedanta, Vyankarana, Jyotisha, Advaita Vedanta, etc. and also offers  studies in modern subjects such as Computer Science, Mathematics, History, etc. 

The motto of National Sanskrit University is Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya. Its English  translation is lead me into the light from the darkness.

National Sanskrit University Admission

All the information about Admission  for each type, of course, is given separately. 

National Sanskrit University UG Admission 

This University offers a variety of UG Courses to students under different particularizations  in the streams of Arts & Science. To get admission to UG Courses, students must have  qualified 12th examinations. 

The main considerations for Admission to UG Courses are the +2 results of candidates  and the Personal Interview round. 

National Sanskrit University PG Admission

The University offers numerous PG Courses for higher studies students. Such as an  M.A. Course with three different particularizations, M.Sc. ( Master of Science), MAM  (Master of Advanced Management) and the duration is 2 years. Only PG Diploma has a  duration of one year. 

The main requirements for admission to PG Courses are Bachelor’s degree in a specific field and demanded minimum percentage depending on course to course. 

Admission to PG Courses is based on the merit of the applicants in their UG level exams and  PT round. 

Career-oriented University B.Ed and M.Ed Admission 

The University offers Professional courses such as B.Ed in Siksha Sastri and M.Ed in Shiksha  Acharya. Point to note: these courses are observed by the National Council for Teacher  Education (NCTE). The Period for B.Ed is two years and for M.Ed is one year. 

Applicants must have to qualify Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test (CSSET) for  admission to B.Ed Course. 

For admission to M.Ed Course, applicants have to clear the Combined ShikshaAcharya  Entrance Test (CSAET).


National Sanskrit University M.Phil & PhD. Admission  

The University offers M.Phil and PhD courses for research candidates. The University  provides the M.Phil course for one year and the PhD course for two years. 

To get admission to a PhD, applicants have to qualify for the Combined VidyaVaridhi Entrance Test (CVVET)  and NET/JRF/SLET/Lectureship test. 

For admission to M.Phil in Sanskrit, applicants are required to pass the CVVET.

  National Sanskrit University Facilities  

Library: 

 The University’s library is equipped with 5500 titles of paper, palm-leaf manuscripts, and   85000 books. OPAC facilities are provided to the students. 

Sports: 

Students and teachers can practice Indoor games and Aerobic Exercises at  

multipurpose Indoor Stadiums. The Indoor stadium contains GYM, Thread MIU,  Tennikoit Courts, Table Tennis. 

Laboratories: 

The University has a Multimedia Language Laboratory with the purpose to  enhance students’ skills in language learning. A psychology laboratory is also  there in University for testing the students’ mental aptitude. 

Guest Room

The University provides the facility of the guest room, as well. 

IT Infrastructure: 

IT Infrastructure is provided for better studies of the students. 

Medical Facilities

The facility has one Ambulance, one doctor is available full time and two are  part-time doctors with one lady doctor being there in the health care centre. 

Hostel: 

Provided the facilities of separate hostels for boys and girls. Out of the total  of nine hostels, five are for boys and two for girls.
