Solution: Even if both gymnosperms and angiosperms bear seeds, their nature is different from one another. The reproductive structures (cones and flowers) borne by these two groups of plants are vastly different, and so are their seeds. Gymnosperms bear seeds only and no fruits are formed upon fertilization. These seeds are known as ‘naked seeds’ as they aren’t enclosed by any fruit and are borne on leaf surfaces. Angiosperms, on the other hand, produce fruit after fertilization and their seeds are enclosed within the mature ovary of the flower.
