After independence a lot of policies implemented. These policies focus on rapid and balanced economic development with equality and social justice. Main challenge with government is to remove poverty. In some cases it become successful but some areas still need improvement. Percentage of poor declined in some states whereas some states it is below than national average.
Improvement are seen in following areas:-
- Per capita income increased.
- Average standard of living rises.
- Basic needs of people are fulfilled.
- Education and health care system has improved.
But when these improvements are compared to developed countries, We are still far away. There is need of more improvement in social and economic aspects to eradicate this vicious cycle of poverty.
