Delhi Govt – New Medical College in Dwarka

The Delhi Government has initiated a plan to build a world-class Medical College in Dwarka. It was announced that a New Medical College would be set up in Dwarka to develop the healthcare workforce.

Shri Satyendar Jain, Delhi’s Health Minister said that the Kejriwal government aims to improve public health facilities and strengthen infrastructure.

Establishment of New Medical College

The Delhi Government has decided to build a new Medical College with Indira Gandhi Hospital. It will be set up in Dwarka Sector-9. 

To ensure better infant and neonatal care, over 600 beds and a child care hospital will be equipped with all facilities. The objective is to establish a medical school with modern technologies and health services. 

The City Health department mentioned that government hospital beds will be increased promptly in the upcoming years. It was also informed that they were working on expanding the capacity of various hospitals.

Crucial Benefits for students at Medical College, Dwarka

The Delhi Government believes that the new initiative will help develop medical education in Delhi. The construction of the Medical college is expected to be completed by 2025. 

Dr. B L Chaudhary, director of the hospital, said that the new medical college would benefit the people and the students as well. Students will have a chance to obtain a seat in Government Medical College. In addition, he explained that youngsters wouldn’t have to study abroad.

Various courses in medical and Health Science were planned to be imparted in the newly founded Medical college. Only MBBS courses will be proposed at an early period. Other courses including MD, MS, DM, etc will be provided in the later years. In addition to this, research will also be emphasized upon.

The college will admit 125 students by 2025. The admission process will be done through the nationwide NEET Examination. There will be a transparent admission process and a faculty of high standards, according to the statement.
