Solution:Epithelial tissues provide covering or lining for body parts. The cells of these tissues are packed with little intercellular matrix.Epithelial tissues are divided into types, simple epithelium and compound epithelium.

Simple epithelium
It is formed of a single layer of cells and provides lining for body cavities, ducts, and tubes.Simple epithelium is divided into three types based on the structural modification of cells.
Squamous epithelium
Cuboidal epithelium
Columnar epithelium
Squamous epithelium
The squamous epithelium possesses a single thin layer of flattened cells having irregular boundaries.
They are seen in the walls of blood vessels, air sacs of the lungs
Cuboidal epithelium
Presence of cube shaped cells
These are present in ducts of glands and tubular parts of nephrons.
It helps in secretion and absorption
Columnar epithelium
Presence of single layer of tall and slender cells
Nucleus is located at the base
Presence of microvilli in free surface
They are seen in the lining of stomach and intestine
Ciliated epithelium
Presence of columnar or cuboidal cells having cilia on their free surface are called ciliated epithelium
Glandular epithelium
Some columnar or cuboidal cells perform function of secretion and are termed glandular epithelium.
Compound epithelium
Compound epithelium contain several layers of cells
They have less role in secretion and absorption processes
The main function is to give protection against chemical and mechanical stress
