Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences, New Delhi was founded in 1998 under the auspices of the Jagannath Gupta Memorial Educational Society (Regd.) to produce outstanding academics who are knowledgeable, dynamic, honest, and dedicated. 

 

The goal is to provide high-quality professional education that combines intellectual insights with personality development to meet the needs of businesses. For more than 28 years, the Society has been providing outstanding higher education in a variety of courses. Vasant Kunj, Institutional Area, South Delhi is the location of the institute.

  • Lecture Halls:

 

JIMS thinks that teaching entails more than simply delivering lectures and courses to pupils. As a result, teaching is a well-balanced blend of theory and practice.

Libman, an integrated library management programme, is installed at the library. It satisfies the standards of a modern library. Libman’s system and subsystems have an unrivalled depth of capability and capabilities. It has a powerful and user-friendly Web-based OPAC in addition to a Windows-based OPAC.

 

  • Computer Labs:

The labs are fully networked and connected to the internet and are equipped with cutting-edge computers. In these laboratories, students gain experience in addition to theoretical information, allowing them to improve their skill level. The content of the course will cover the following topics.

 

  1. Internet Application Lab:

JIMS has its Internet Application Lab, which offers courses in Internet fundamentals, multimedia, and website building. Every student has access to the internet. The campus’s Wi-Fi network is open to all students.

 

  1. DBMS Laboratory: 

JIMS has built up a database management system (DBMS) lab to help students grasp both the foundations and advanced ideas of databases. The lab includes Oracle, SQL Server, and MS-Access as part of the curriculum.

 

  1. Lab for Data Structures: 

The students engage in a learning experience in the lab by implementing Data Structures and applying Algorithms.

 

  1. Lab for Object-Oriented Programming:

 Objects, classes, inheritance, interfaces, and packages are all covered in this lab. Each discussion focuses on the application of these principles in the real world.

 

  1. Laboratory for Computer Hardware and Technologies:

The lab includes all hardware components of computer science, including the study of the MotherBoard and numerous computer parts. All of a computer’s operational aspects are demonstrated in the lab.

 

  1. Linux Training Center: 

JIMS has set up a Linux Lab to teach students about the Linux operating system.

 

  • Mass Communication Studio:

 

In the Department of Mass Communication at the Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences, knowledge and practical skills go hand in hand. Students will get both life skills and a solid foundation for industrial learning through this curriculum. The programme is intended to introduce students to the science of multi-dimensional communication art.

 

  1. 96.9 and 90.4 JIMS FM Community Radio: 

JIMS is the first private sector institute in Northern India to be granted a Community Radio license by the Indian government. The students administer this radio station, which allows them to create programmes for community broadcast.

 

  1. Studios for Electronic Media: 

JIMS has two completely equipped studios, one for radio and the other for audio-visuals, television, and film. The studios are equipped with cutting-edge technology, such as

 

  • an Audio Lab with cutting-edge equipment, 

  • a Video Lab with high-precision cameras for interior and outdoor filming,

  1. Lab for Communication: 

JIMS offers a well-equipped communication laboratory with the newest equipment where sessions are overseen by technically qualified professors utilizing language CDs to develop students’ communication abilities and give them correct diction and pronunciation.

 

  • Hospitality and Catering Management:

 

  1. Front Office Lab: 

A lab where students learn how to handle all aspects of guest service, including reservations, registration, check-in, check-out, luggage management, and more, using the most up-to-date Front Office software. Situation Handling and Power Dressing are critical aspects of Front Office operations.

 

  1. Training Kitchen/Production Lab: 

In our well-equipped, professionally managed kitchens, students are taught basic, advanced, and quantity cooking. The production practicals begin with a fundamental understanding of how to cook.

 

  1. Bakery: 

A contemporary bakery where students learn how to make sophisticated eggless bakery and confectionery goods such as bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, muffins, patties, and croissants. Under the guidance of an instructor, students prepare desserts such as shuffles, mousses, and puddings.

 

  1. Lab for Housekeeping: 

Students are taught fundamental guest room procedures such as bed making, turndown, and room cleaning in the housekeeping lab, which includes a mock guest room. They are also taught basic laundry procedures such as washing, ironing, and stain removal.

 

  1. Restaurant for training: 

Students are taught many forms of food and beverage services, as well as bartending skills like pouring drinks and producing mocktails, at the training restaurant. The students host a variety of themed events in a restaurant-like setting, providing them with a firsthand look at the job they perform in the business.



  • Interior Design:

 

  1. Studio for Interior Design: 

Because interior design is a practical and visual subject, it necessitates a good grasp of software. As a result, JIMS teaches students in our well-equipped lab all of the well-known software that assists them in graphically presenting their ideas. Workshops are also led by knowledgeable specialists, who assist them in maintaining their abilities up to date.

 

Students can learn technical drawing, also known as drafting, as well as the standards and conventions for layout plans, in a well-equipped interior design studio.

 

  1. Multimedia Design Lab: 

JIMS offers a fully equipped studio where students may learn how to sketch and draw. Individual drafting boards, parallel bars, and other equipment are available in the studio to help them prepare their sketches and drawings according to industry standards. During the first week of the course, each student receives a start-up kit.

 

Students are taught how to use the most up-to-date AutoCAD software, allowing them to create in a completely 2D, 3D, and 3D Max architectural environment.



  • Cafeteria:

 

The college canteen plays a critical role in promoting nutritious meals and fostering a healthy eating culture on campus. It is a terrific spot to rest in between the busy lecture-lab sessions because it caters to the students’ taste buds.

 

The cafeteria serves high-quality, sanitary cuisine at a reasonable price. Students can choose from a wide variety of foods and beverages from across the world.

Eligibility Criteria

Min. 55% marks in 10+2, qualified from any recognized Board.

Selection Procedure for all courses other than Interior Design and Mass Communication:

The final decision will be made based on the JET (JIMS Entrance Test). A two-hour written test will be followed by a personal interview.

  • All written tests, except Interior Design and Mass Communication, are organized into three sections:

  • English: Verbal Ability & Verbal Reasoning

  • Math: Quantitative Ability

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs

 

  • For Interior Design Course:

Students enrolled in an Interior Design course are required to take a Design Aptitude Test, which assesses their ability to develop designs utilizing various forms, poster design, and drawing.

 

  • For Mass Communication Course:

Students enrolled in the Mass Communication Course are evaluated on their writing abilities as they relate to media professional skills.

Note: Students who have passed any competitive exam, such as IP University’s CET, UGAT, MAT, or DART entry examinations, are excused from taking the JET. Only those with such a rank will be admitted after a personal interview.

For a fee of Rs. 1000/-, you can obtain an application form for admission from the Institute. The Institute requires a completed application form, two passport-sized pictures, and self-attested photocopies of qualifying exam certificates.
