From the 2023 academic year onwards, the UP Board 10th test will contain 30% MCQs, and the Inter exam will have MCQs as well. Internships will be offered to students in grades 9 and 11 at UPMSP-affiliated schools.
UPMSP 10th Exams 2022:
Beginning in 2023, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) will include MCQ in the Madhyamik, Class 10 exams. According to reports, 30% of the questions in the Class 10 test will be MCQ, and candidates will be given optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets.
“MCQs will make up 30% of all exam questions, and students will be given OMR sheets to answer them,” stated UP Board secretary Divyakant Shukla. This structure was utilized in Class 9 exams, and it will be used in Class 10 exams as well starting next year.” From 2025, the Uttar Pradesh Board may use the MCQ format in the Class 12 exam.
According to the official, the board is also creating an internship programme for Class 9 and 11 pupils. It will help them become more familiar with the employment market. On Wednesday, the decision was made at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The details of the internship programme, according to a senior official, are still being worked out. It is too early to speculate on how the internship programme will operate. More information will be released shortly. The goal is to get pupils ready for work and increase their chances of landing a job.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed authorities to guarantee that during the next 100 days, all schools in the state have (i). Wi-Fi connections (ii). Smart classrooms (iii). A student monitoring system and (iv). Biometric attendance for children.
Adityanath also advocated for the development of the ‘Pankh’ an online career counseling service to help students. He also told officials that (i) an online monitoring and classification system (ii) an e-library, should be built as soon as possible in schools.
Besides, the state’s chief minister urged that an action plan should be created to improve the situation. (i) Learning results (ii) expand enrollment (iii) reduce the dropout rate. According to sources, he urged officials to establish career counseling units at all educational institutions.
“He also stated that there was a need to connect Sanskrit with technology. And that 180-hour certification and 360-hour diploma programmes should be developed to do this,” they continued.
Adityanath stated that all teaching openings should be filled quickly. And that appointments for yoga instructors should be made throughout the state.
For the academic year 2022-23, the state developed a 10-point grading system for three undergraduate courses: BA, BSc, and B.com.
The decision, according to officials, is in keeping with the National Education Policy (NEP), which strives to evaluate pupils based on their learning objectives. According to a government official, private universities in the state have been told to use the grading system.
According to officials,
Children who receive a mark of 91 to 100 will receive a grade of 10 and the letter O under the new system (Outstanding).
Students who score between 81 and 90 will receive a grade point of 9, which is equivalent to an A+.
Students who score between 71 and 80 will receive a grade point of 8 and an A.
“Other grade points will be accompanied by a B+, B, or C, with pupils earning 33 to 40 receiving grade point 4 and P.” (Pass).
Students who score less than 32 will receive a mark of 0 and an F (failure) as a result,” they said.
