Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a top-ranked public central university in India. JNU is a world-renowned center for teaching and research. Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade points of 3.91 (on a scale of 4). Jawaharlal Nehru University was established in 1969 by an act of parliament. Named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. Scholarships
Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships: For students whose parent’s/guardian’s income is under or does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum. Scholarship payments will be governed by the guidelines in effect at the University at the time.
Tendulkar Scholarship: This scholarship of Rs.400/- per month is offered to two students from different Centers of the School of Social Sciences on a rotating basis for a term of two years.
Prof. Nurul Hasan Scholarship: For second year M.A/M.Sc/MCA students, with highest CGPA in the first year for Rs.1500/- p.m. for a period of one year. It contains two scholarships, one for social science subject students and the other for science subject students.
Ford Foundation Scholarships: With a value of Rs. 700/- p.m. for students of the M.A program of the school of International Studies which is limited in nature.
Prof. Ramesha Rao Scholarship and Travel Grant: The award is for a period of ten months at a monthly rate of Rs.3,000/- per year, with a travel grant of Rs.30,000/- to an M.Phil/Ph.D student for presenting a paper at an international conference, seminar, or other events in the field of cancer biology.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts a computer-based test called JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE). Whereas, for some courses, admission is also based on merit.
