There are two sources of energy, commercial and non- commercial. Non-commercial sources of energy are fire-wood, agricultural waste, and dried dung. These are non-commercial as they are found in nature. Non-commercial sources of energy like grass, hay, twigs and small branches of tree, sun-dried cow dung cakes are generally renewable. More than 60 percent of Indian households depend on these traditional sources of energy for meeting regular cooking and heating needs.
