The Sanskriti Pratishthan invites applications from young performing artists who want to contribute to the enrichment of their respective art forms for its annual Sanskriti – Kalakriti Fellowship in Performing Arts. The Sanskriti Pratishthan, which has given similar awards for the past 25 years, will manage the scheme.

 

Eligibility

This fellowship encourages female applicants. All proposals that help the program’s objectives are welcome. The candidate should have at least ten years of experience in Indian classical dance. The fellow must have at least two (3) solo performances to his or her credit in recognized venues.

The candidate needs to seek advice from another senior guru to improve on his or her current style. It would be a three-month residency program that could be spread out over ten months. This will need the candidate to get permission from both her current guru and the guru to whom she wishes to go.

Aim

The Fellowship encourages young artists to develop their potential and skills. Through intensive practice and/or incorporating different aspects of their art.

Terms

This Fellowship will be for ten months. The Rs. 50,000 grant will be distributed in two installments. The first installment of Rs 25,000/- will be paid at the start of the fellowship program, and a brief mid-term progress report will be required.

The second installment will be made after the completion of your project report, and the fellow may be asked to perform a dance recital.

 

Agreement

The applicant must sign an agreement with Sanskriti Pratishthan about a consistent flow of work during the Fellowship period. At the same time, the candidate should not be holding another Fellowship or working on any other project.

 

To the head office address, all candidates should send their CV and a brief synopsis of their project proposal.

 

Benefits

The chosen fellows will receive a scholarship worth INR 50,000, which will be paid in two installments as follows:

  1. The first installment of INR 25,000 will be paid at the start of the fellowship.
  2. The second installment of INR 25,000 will be given when the fellow submits the complete project report and may be asked to perform a dance recital.

Documents

Along with the application, the following compulsory documents, are as follows:

  • A current curriculum vitae/resume that is no more than two pages long.
  • A description of their project within 500 words.
  • Several examples of previous work.
  • The performance project.
  • The names and contact information for two referees.

To apply, follow these steps:

 

  • Step 1: Include complete postal and contact information, as well as an email address, in the mail.
  • Step 2: Make the subject of your email “Sanskriti – Kalakriti Fellowship.”
  • Step 3: Attach the necessary documents.
  • Step 4: Email your application to fellowships@sanskritifoundation.org.

Applications for the following year’s fellowship are accepted all year.

Terms and Conditions

Take a quick look over the terms and conditions: –

  1. The applicant must seek advice from another senior guru and improve upon his or her current abilities.
  2. The first installment is given to the student at the start of the fellowship.
  3. After completing the assigned project and performing a dance recital, he/she receives the second installment.
  4. During the training period, the artists must sign an agreement requiring a consistent flow of work.
  5. During this time, the applicant should not be holding any other scholarships.
