About the Future Wireless Communication Programme
IIT Hyderabad has launched a one-year certification course on Future Wireless Communication. The course will commence on 1st August 2022. Interested students must register themselves on the official website of IIT Hyderabad.
IIT Hyderabad is one of the first organisations in India to have developed and commercialised 5G technology, including NB-IoT chips, etc.
The last date of registration is 10th July 2022. The Future Wireless Communication programme has 4 modules:
- Data Handling and Hardware Programming
- Signal Processing and Related Hardware
- Communication Engineering and Standards
- Hands-on training on 5G and 6G.
Students can exit after completion of any of the modules with a certificate. There will be a written test on 10th and 17th July. The test will ask basic questions on Aptitude and Mathematics. Students can attempt either of the tests to qualify.
Eligibility Criteria of IIT Hyderabad’s Future Wireless Communication Programme
To be eligible for the programme, students must have a diploma, BSc or a BTech degree or anything equivalent in Science or Engineering field from a verified University. Students in their 8th semester can also apply after producing a no-objection certificate (NOC) from their institute.
Quoting the director of IIT Hyderabad, Professor B S Murty “It is imperative that the wealth of knowledge created in the IITH 5G research program be shared with as many fresh graduates in the country as possible in the shortest possible time. This certificate program will help address the acute shortage of workforce in this domain by training at least 500 engineers per year”.
Benefits of the Future Wireless Communication Programme
Selected students will get a scholarship of Rs 25000 per month. They will also get 50 pre-placement offers and 200 R&D project staff positions in the 6G research project of IIT Hyderabad.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that it is heartening to see IITH launching a Certificate Program on Future Wireless Communication, aimed at training 500 Engineers every year.
The government is focused on developing the Atma Nirbhar 5G ecosystem. Their commitment to creating a skilled resource pool of specialised engineers is in line with the 20-year-long road map to becoming a trusted global supply chain partner.
The minister also congratulated Prof Murty and his entire team at IITH and said that they are looking forward to the participants of this course contributing to the Digital Nation Building.
