Life cycle of bryophytes


-Gametes formed by bryophytes are haploid

-The male sex organ,antheridium produce antherozoids 

-Female sex organ,archegonium produce egg

-In water,antheridium combines with archegonium to form a zygote

-Zygote then reduce to form sporophyte,a multicellular body

-Reduction of sporophyte results in the formation of spores
