Phylum Arthropoda:- 

  • Phylum Arthropoda is the largest Kingdom of Animalia which includes insects. 

  • It includes two-thirds of all named species on earth are arthropods.

  • Arthropods are organized at the organ system level.

  • Arthropods are bilaterally symmetrical.

  • They have triploblastic

  • Arthropods are segmented, The body consists of the head, thorax and abdomen also have jointed appendages.

  • Arthropods are coelomate animals.

  • Respiratory system:- They have gills, book gills, book lungs, or tracheal system. 

  • Sensory organs:– They have antennae, eyes (compound and simple), statocysts, or balance organs are present.

  • Excretory organs:- Excretion takes place through malpighian tubules or green glands.

  • They have no brain.

  • Arthropods have no cilia.

  • Reproduction:- Arthropods have mostly dioecious. Fertilization takes place internal. They are mostly oviparous. Development may be direct or indirect.

  • Apis (Honey bee), Bombyx (Silkworm), Laccifer (Lac insect), Anopheles, Culex, and Aedes (Mosquitoes), Locusta (Locust), Limulus (King crab), and others are examples of Phylum Arthropods.
