Psychology is a multidisciplinary as well as interdisciplinary subject, so it is regarded as a science subject as well as social science also due it possesses a relation to many other disciplines.

In modern times, the curriculum of educational institutions is made by interlinking with other disciplines.

The study of psychology is interlinked with other disciplines such as sociology, political science, anthropology, education, mass communication, medical, law, economics, physiology, philosophy and many others; as psychology is in every aspect of life.

Some of the social sciences and science subjects are discussed below for interchanging of ideas with psychology .

1) Psychology and Sociology–  Both the subjects deal with their corresponding points of view. The psychologist and the sociologists parallely studies the behavior of individuals in a social condition. Psychology focuses on the concepts of mind and behavior as sociology does but in a reference to the context of society and culture. As both are regarded as a social science discipline they collaboratively exchange their ideas and facts.

2) Economics and Psychology –   Economics mainly deals with supply and demand circulating in a market but it has to deal with the human being also that is why it is regarded as a social science subject.

In recent times , both economics and psychology are merging together in the fields of industries and consumer markets to understand the consumers’ behavior in a particular market situation. This has led to exploration for observing the social factors and the non-economic factors also. Even psychology considers the economics’ notion to explain various psychological phenomena

3) Anthropology and psychology – Anthropology and psychology both differ from each other but still there exists some relationship between the two. Anthropology deals with the primitive culture, primitive or uncivilized human beings and the activities, superstitions and beliefs. As it deals with people it has some link with psychology; but psychology is more broader in every aspect than  anthropology.

4) Philosophy and Psychology – philosophy mainly studies the acts or processes of valuing, motivation, emotion, ethics, beliefs of human beings. These value judgements are not measured quantitatively rather they are subjective in nature. But later on many psychologists have discovered these measurements by introducing tools or scales of these subjective facts. Despite some differences between the two subjects there is a process of exchanging ideas and concepts between the two.

5) Medical and psychology – nowadays  many hospitals are hiring psychologists and psychiatrists for expansion of their facilities and speciality in respect of  rendering services to the patients who need counselling for their mental well-being because doctors are concerned both with the physical as well as the mental well-being of their patients.

6) Law or criminology and Psychology – psychology consists of many branches and one of them is criminal psychology so it has a connection with the law or judiciary system also as it is confined to social interests. So to understand the motives of the criminals and for rectifying their deviant or anti-social behavior psychology is there  to understand these factors .

So the above discussed are many disciplines of social science and science which has some connection with psychology though they have their unique features still some relation is made to understand or relate the concepts, ideas and factors for the purpose of gaining knowledge and applications and for better understanding.
