One of the inherited cities of Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district known as Tadipatri is situated between the border of Kurnool and Kadapa district and is also cherished for its industrial growth in cement plants and ancient carvings.  It is one of the pilgrimage cities of Andhra Pradesh. It is also referred to as Tadpatri, Tatipatri, Tativanam, Tamalapalle and one of the historical names of the city was Bhaskarakshetra in ancient Indian literature.

●   Bugga Ramalingeswara temple:

 The masterpiece of Vijayanagara architecture is the Bugga Ramalingeswara temple which was built in the 15th century. The temple is situated right next to the Penna river. The conspicuous fact of the temple is an underground continual stream that flows over the rock for many years that has a form of shivling in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. 

●  The rise of the cement Industry:

The evolution of the granite industry evolved in the city of Tadipatri. Tadipatri was the first city in India to evolve as an industrial zone with already three cement companies, Birla Cement, Ultratech Cement, and Penna Cement, and also set the resonance for the industrialization of the district. It is also famous for a medium steel plant known as Gerdau Steel Plant.
