Solution:Xylem and Phloem are the components of the transport system in highly organised plants. They are highly developed conducting tissues present in plants for transport. These tissues help in movement of food from leaves and also raw materials from roots.

Xylem

It is composed of vessels and tracheids and is seen in the centre region of the vascular bundle. These structures help in the transport of water and other substances from the root region to all other parts of the plant.

Phloem

It is formed of sieve cells, sieve tubes, and companion cells and is seen in the outer region of the vascular bundle. The main function of phloem is to transport food synthesized in leaves to all other parts of the plant. In phloem, transport of soluble products of photosynthesis occurs by the process called translocation.
