Solution: water can be found in three different states during water cycle:

  • Solid  (ice and hail)

  • Liquid (regular water)

  • Gas (vapour).

  1. Gaseous state:  water evaporates from the surface of water bodies and mixes with air forming a gaseous mixture of water vapours and air.

  1. Liquid state:  when water vapour condenses high up in the atmosphere (clouds), falls on the surface of the earth as rain.

  1. Solid state:   freezing of liquid droplets in the upper layer of atmosphere form snow, hail or sleet.
