Ans. A variable is a measurable characteristic that has different values at different points in time and under different conditions. Different variables vary in different ways, and they are broadly classified into two types based on how they vary:
Discrete variable –
A discrete variable is one that accepts only whole numbers as values
These variables grow in leaps or in whole numbers.
For instance, the number of people in a family, the number of students in a class, etc.
Constant variable –
A continuous variable is one that can take any value within a reasonable range.
These variables are assumed to have a range of values or increase in fractions rather than jumps.
For example, age, height, weight, and so on.
