Solution:Killing of organisms in one trophic level alters functioning of the food chain and it also affects our ecosystem. If we kill all the herbivores organisms in one trophic level then carnivores animals face difficulty in finding food and it also affects their existence in the ecosystem.

Trophic level

Trophic levels represent different steps present in a food chain in which the transfer of energy takes place from one level to another.

Lindeman  law

Lindeman’s law of ten percent indicates that in every trophic level ten percent of energy transfer occurs from one trophic level to another trophic level. The maximum energy present in the first trophic level and least energy found in the last trophic level.

Food chain

Food chain from an energy source in our ecosystem. It is a linear chain in which energy transfer occurs from one trophic level to another.Different food chains combine to form a food web.

Different types of food chain

The two types of food chain present in our ecosystem include grazing food chain  and detritus food chain

Detritus food chain

It is a type of food chain that starts with dead organic substances. The energy from dead organic substances transfer into decomposers and then it is consumed by different carnivores organisms.

Grazing food chain

It is a type of food chain that starts with plants.Green plants produce food with the process of photosynthesis.Energy from first trophic level then passes to herbivores and  then into the carnivores.
