Solution-We should conserve forests for the following reasons-

  • They provide raw materials for several industries like the paper industry, timber industry, lac industry and sports equipment industries.

  • Forests prevent floods and soil erosion.

  • Forests help in maintaining the water cycle in nature, thus helping in bringing sufficient rainfall.

  • Forests also provide natural habitats for wild animals and birds.

  • Forests are critical for sustaining biodiversity(large numbers of species of plants and animals) and maintaining ecological balance.

We should conserve wildlife for the following reasons-

  • They are an essential part of nature.

  • To keep nature’s natural equilibrium, we must safeguard wildlife.

  • Endangered species need to be protected.

  • Wildlife organisms have equal rights to live on this planet.

Explanation-We needs to conserve wildlife. For example- it is necessary to conserve tigers and lions because they keep the population of herbivore animals under control and save the vegetation from overgrazing. Due to overgrazing, green plants are destroyed and rainfall in that area is reduced. Due to less rainfall, green forests can turn into barren deserts over some time. Thus, wildlife must be conserved to prevent the extinction of rare varieties of animals and birds.
