Andhra Pradesh’s central university occupies a unique position within the Indian University System. The university was founded in 2018 in Anantapuramu, the district headquarters town in Andhra Pradesh. The establishment of Andhra Pradesh’s Central University heralds a new era in higher education. The institution is positioned for substantial expansion in the years ahead. Thanks to innovative academic programmes that are socially and culturally relevant. The University’s mission is to transform students into knowledgeable citizens of the country. This is done through value-based education that emphasizes interactive learning and hands-on experience. As a result, the university plans to offer demand-driven multidisciplinary courses. That will have a strong emphasis on experiential learning through a variety of short and long-term vocational courses.

The institution will eventually launch the Study India Program. This will meet the demands of international students by allowing them to transfer their academic grades and credits.

Here you will get each and every information you must know about your academics, at least till the duration you’ll be a part of the university. The link mentioned here will give you major details about how the academic work is done and how it is structured so that you can make best use of it.


General Instructions:


  • Every student is required to attend the University’s induction programme.


  • The schedule of orientation modules for incoming students is communicated by the university at the time of the classes commencement, the university/ department/ center.


  • Each student is paired with a mentor who is a member of the department’s faculty. 


  • A mentor advises a student on academic programmes and helps them make decisions.


  • Courses are selected based on the student’s academic background and career goals.


  • Every student is required to register for classes using a Registration Form, which he intends to do in a semester. The form is printed three times: copy for students, departmental and sectional copies.

  • Newsletters:


The university publishes newsletters which contain all the activities performed in the whole academic year. For example: Any Alumni visits, Festivals celebrated, Convocations, Guest Lectures, University’s Guest Lectures, Achievements by faculty or students for any co-curricular activities and so on.

About Central Library at CUAP



The Institute’s Central Library opened in 2019 to support learning. For this, it provides information resources, facilities, and services. The Library aspires to build a comprehensive and dynamic collection of resources that includes E-resources that will be valuable to professors and students in their academic pursuits.

The activities of the library are split between serving the institution’s educational and research roles. The Central Library is expanding.


To improve circulation services and give users the ability to

  • issue, 

  • return, 

  • renew, 

  • and monitor their library accounts on their own.


It has also aided in the security of the library’s assets, which has been bolstered by the installation of CCTV within the building.


During this time, the Central Library added 1000 printed books to its collection. That includes textbooks and reference books in Engineering, Science, and Humanities & Social Sciences.

The following are the total amount of resources currently available in Central Library:

How to Reach the Campus?

The Central University of Andhra Pradesh’s campus is about 1km from the JNTU campus.

The city of Anantapur is the name of the district. The city is located between Bangalore and Hyderabad, two major South Indian towns. It is located roughly 350 km south of Hyderabad and 200 kilometers north of Bangalore.


Both train and bus routes run through Ananthapuramu. 

All trains (including super-fast) that go to Bangalore from 

  • New Delhi, 

  • Bhubaneswar, 

  • and Hyderabad 

stop at Ananthapuramu railway station (station code: ATP). 


Travel to Ananthapuramu by road from:

  • Gooty (station code: GY), 

  • Tadipatri (station code: TU),

  • and Dharmavaram (station code: DMM) railway stations.


Ananthapuramu is connected to other major towns and cities via NH-44.

There are bus services from Andhra Pradesh’s major towns, as well as Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad, to the city.

Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore is the closest airport to Ananthapuramu
