A baby is not able to tell her/his caretakers that she/he is sick. What would help us to find out (a) that the baby is sick? (b) what is the sickness?

Answer : Babies are not able to tell their problems, so parents or caretakers have to take proper care for children.

(a)   There are some symptoms that are helpful in identifying the sickness in children or babies. They are

  • When the baby is crying continuously then one can identify that the baby feels sick.

  • Increase in body temperature also indicates the infection of disease, this says the baby fell sick. This increased body temperature is a major sign that one should not neglect.

  • Sometimes children don’t like to eat food when they feel sick.

  • Redness of eyes is the sign of causes of some infection in babies.

(b)   The symptoms or signs that help in indicating some of the sickness are;

  • High fever, muscle ache, cold indicates malaria.

  •  Fever, runny nose, and cough indicates respiratory problems.

  • Mild fever, congestion, coughing, and sore throat indicate a common cold.

  • Symptoms like vomiting, and diarrhea indicate the infection in the stomach.

  • Signs like body ace, headache, sore throat, cough these symptoms indicate influenza.

  • Heavy fever, body ache, headache symptoms indicate typhoid fever.

There are many common symptoms for many diseases, among them some are most specific to certain disease or disorder caretaker or the parents have to identify these symptoms and have to take the proper measures for their control.
