Solution: The following are some of the criteria used to choose a representative sampling

(i) The representative sampling is done in such a way that it represents and recognizes all of the relevant groups in the community. If the lifestyle of working women in India is to be researched, five samples, one from the organized sector and the other from the unorganized sector, would be obtained. The combined study is then carried out using these samples.

(ii) These samples will be chosen at random, which means they will be chosen by chance. Randomization is the term for this procedure, which is based on probability. Randomization is accomplished via a lottery system, dice rolling, random number tables designed specifically for this purpose, and random numbers generated by calculators and computers.
