No, modernisation as a Planning Objective does not contradict employment generation. Employment and modernisation are positively correlated. While modernisation refers to the use of new and modern technology in the production process, it may initially lead to unemployment but in the long run it will increase productivity and consequently there will be a rise in income of people. Due to increase in income, demand for goods and services increases which lead to more job opportunities. Hence, modernisation and employment are not contradictory but complementary for each other
