Solution-   Indeed, the environment of the child has a major role in the development of the child

  • The environment of the child is inclusive of the surrounding that is beneficial for the development of a diverse range of skills and behaviours. For instance – speaking is a developmental task that children are assumed to learn early in development, but the environment of the child is not so encouraging that it’s difficult for the child to develop that fluently on their own.

  • It must be kept in mind that children will develop according to the development set by the genetic factors. They will attain maturity in a particular skill when the genetic factors will allow developing. For example- you can’t expect an infant to instantly stand and run towards you while shouting your name/ relation – dada/papa.

  • The socio-economic factors along with the cultural factors also play a major role in the development of the children. For example – a child from a poor family won’t be able to have such luxury and attention of parents all the time, most of the time child is neglected. In cultural differences didn’t we have noticed that how child behaviour varies according to the culture.

  • Don’t forget to mention the social learning theory of bandura who mentioned that children learn from their immediate environment by observing others and they imitate others.

Thus, the environment of the child has a major role in the development of the child and these points substantiate it.
