(i) Kalam’s father Jainulabdeen was not much educated and wealthy, yet he enlisted great innate wisdom and a true nobility of spirit. He strived hard to fulfill the requirements of his family.


(ii) Kalam’s mother Ashiamma was a sole supporter of her husband. She endowed food to outsiders more than her family members.


(iii) The author describes himself as a short and ordinary looking boy. He was self disciplined, generous,and had a secular mindset.
