About IISER 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali (IISER Mohali) is an autonomous public university in Mohali, Punjab, India, founded in 2007. It is one of seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) established by the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resources and Development to conduct frontier science research and provide science education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It was founded after IISER Pune and IISER Kolkata and is designated by the Government of India as an Institute of National Importance. It encourages scientific research in a variety of fields.

Admissions

The integrated Ph.D. admission criteria include JEST rank/DST INSPIRE fellowship or KVPY Scholarship/Rank in IIT JAM, as well as an interview. The KVPY channel, JEE Advanced, and SCB channel are used to select students for BS-MS dual degrees. The marks obtained in 10+2 will also be considered. The selection for Ph.D. is based on the GATE/CSIR or UGC-NET/GPAT/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE score in the relevant specialization, as well as an interview. For the BS-MS Dual and Ph.D. programs, the merit scores, which are the ranks and scores obtained in the respective examinations, will determine the student’s final admission.

Application Process

A candidate who wishes to be admitted to this Institute must take the following steps:

• Check out the official website.
• Click on the “Online application facility” link on the website – http://www.iisermohali.ac.in/.
• Fill out the Pre-admission Form and register.
• Log in with your credentials and fill out all of the required information and documents.
• Submit the form and make a copy for your reference.

Amenities

Facilities

• Library: The library is known not only for its beautiful atmosphere but also for its incredible infrastructure. The library space is user-friendly, which promotes learning and creativity among students. Personal books, laptop computers, and library-issued books are permitted for effective reading.
• Visitor’s Hostel: The Institute provides lodging for both faculty and visitors.
• The Institute’s health center is well-equipped with specialized doctors, surgeons, and physicians. The faculty provides proper care and treatment to its patients.
• Sports Facilities: All sports, from athletics to volleyball to kho kho, are played and taught on the IISER campus.
• Counseling Service: Students have the option of consulting and seeking the advice of a specialized counselor.

Admission Details

How to Apply to the IISER BS-MS?

• Candidates must go to the IISER admissions website and click on Apply Online.
• They must enter their basic personal information and generate an OTP on the registration page. After entering the OTP, candidates must enter the Captcha and submit it. The application number/User ID and password will then be sent to the mobile number and email address provided.
• The candidates can then log in again using the credentials that were sent to them.
• The next step is to fill out personal information, qualification information, and document upload forms, which are divided into three tabs on the application page.
• After entering all of the required personal and qualification information and uploading a scanned copy of the required documents, along with a photograph and signature, the candidate must enter the captcha text and click the checkbox to confirm the declaration.
• Then, select “Click here to fill out the Application” to access the SCB Channel application form. A unique application number will be assigned. KVPY and JEE can both use the same application number and user id (advanced). A new id will be generated as a result.
• Make no more than one payment. If money has been debited, contact the helpdesk via email or phone with the transaction id to resolve the issue. Service desk IISER2021.helpdesk@gmail.com is the email address.

IISER Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must take the qualifying examination, and those who achieve merit in the following national level exams will be preferred:
• NBHM Masters or Ph.D. scholarship for Mathematics DST INSPIRE fellowship or KVPY scholarship Rank in JEST examination for Physics
• IIT JAM rank for the chosen specialization
• Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their performance in the examination. Those who have been chosen will be notified via email or postal mail. The merit of the examination and the interview will determine the final selection.

Ph.D. Admission 2022

• Candidates must go to the university’s official website to fill out the application form.
• Second, candidates must go to the designated page of the program to which they are applying.
• On the page, click the apply online link. Following that, a new web page will appear.
• To register, select Ph.D. Admissions and enter a valid E-mail address on the following page. This email address will be used for future references.
• Once registered, the login information and password will be emailed to you. On the login page, use the same login (email address and password). When you enter your email address and click submit, a password prompt will appear.
• After submitting the form, click the “Download Report PDF” button to download and print your application.
• The print copy should be signed and dated by the applicant. Attach a passport-size photograph to the space provided and bring a print copy to the interview.
• You can check the status of the application at any time by entering your login information.
• Status: For Incomplete form. Login and verify that you have completed all mandatory fields. Before submitting your application, recheck the details of the form.
• Form Complete – Your form has been submitted for Committee review.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified for interviews via email or postal mail.
