 It is known to many that Traditional Systems of Medicines has played a vital role in fulfilling healthcare needs all over the world. They have been doing that for a long time and they shall play a major role in the upcoming years also. The medicine systems which originated in India or the ones that came from outside the country and became a part of the Indian culture are known as Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM). India has six recognized systems of medicine and they all are different in their types. These are inclusive of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Yoga, Naturopathy and Homeopathy. 

The vision of ISM is to give provisions of comprehensive and low-cost healthcare. Its mission has been upgrading the quality of primary, secondary and tertiary health services delivery. Through prevention measures, promotion of curation measures and safeguarding people’s health by traditional ways of medicine. Its mission also involves making its distinct types of medicines such as Siddha, Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Homeopathy and Naturopathy, etc. It is also making right speciality wings at the secondary level and tertiary level.
