What is JEE Advanced?
JEE Advanced is the second stage of the JEE entrance test for students seeking admission to premier engineering institutions such as IITs. After qualifying for JEE Main, the top 2,50,000 candidates can appear for JEE Advanced. It is computer-based and is conducted by seven Indian IITs on a rotation basis.
The seven JEE Advanced exam centers in India are as follows:
· IIT Kanpur
· IIT Bombay
· IIT Kharagpur
· IIT Delhi
· IIT Madras
· IIT Roorkee
· IIT Guwahati
Eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced
For candidates who want to pursue admission to one of the well-known and prominent Indian engineering or architecture institutes, it is necessary to fulfill all below-listed eligibility requirements. These are necessary requirements suggested by authorities to carry forward the process of JEE Advanced. The authorities also have the right to disqualify inappropriate candidates who are unable to fulfill the requirements. Hence, the following are important suggestions to fulfill before appearing for JEE Advanced.
· Applicants should have qualified for the 10+2 exam in the year 2020 as well as the ones in 2022.
· A candidate in the general category must have been born on or after October 1st, 1995. However, Candidates from SC/ST/PWD can apply with a relaxation of 5 years.
· It is mandatory for the students to qualify JEE Mains examination.
· The candidate is only allowed to attempt the test two times in a two-year period.
· There should have never been any enrolments at the IITs for candidates. Moreover, students who have received admission to IIT but then canceled it would not be allowed to appear for the exam.
Required documents and Admit Card
As per the official guidelines provided by authorities, an Admit Card is a must in the examination hall without which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam. Furthermore, a valid photo identification proof is also necessary for the candidates besides the admit card. The following steps can be used to get the admit card:
· To apply for the admit card a candidate should have a registration number, contact number, and date of birth along with the registered Email ID.
· Then click on ‘Submit’.
· Download the Admit card and check if there are any errors or mistakes before printing it.
