Animal Cell

  • The cell wall of plant cells is made up of cellulose and is present outside the cell membrane.

  • The photosynthetic cell is green due to the presence of chlorophyll.

  • Centriole remains absent in the majority of the plant cell.

  • Plant cell generally has a large centrally located vacuole.

  • Cytokinesis takes place with the help of the formation of a cell plate.

  • They have chloroplast to prepare their own food.

  • The reserve food is stored in the form of starch.

  • The cell wall remains absent in animal cells. The outermost covering of an animal cell is called the cell membrane or plasma membrane.

  • Chloroplast is absent from animal cells.

  • Centriole remains present in the majority of the animal cell.

  • Inside an animal cell, vacuoles are generally small and are presently scattered throughout the cell.

  • Cytokinesis takes place with help of the formation of a cell furrow.

  • They do not contain chloroplast, hence cannot prepare their own food.

  • The reserve food is stored in the form of glycogen.
