All About Silver Jubilee Government College
Silver Jubilee Government College is in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. SJGC college was inaugurated on the glorious day of the Silver Jubilee occasion of Indian Independence. That means it was established in the year of 1972. The Government of Andhra Pradesh took the initiative for SJGC college under the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the late Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao.

Students can be admitted to SJGC from all three areas of the state – Coastal Andhra, Telangana, and Rayalaseema. Students from three different regions are admitted in the ratio of 42:36:22.
Silver Jubilee Government College UG Courses Admission 2022 & Eligibility Criteria
Silver Jubilee Government College offers UG Courses in all the streams – Arts, Science, and Commerce.
The first and important requirement for UG Courses is to pass the 12th board examinations in their respective streams. Then, they will be eligible for the college-level entrance test – SET (Silver Entrance Test).
To go for B.Sc.Science, students must have done 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. To get admission to B.Sc. Life Science applicants must have Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as the core subjects in the 12th class.
Applicants have to go for the Silver Entrance Test to get admission to their desired courses.
About Entrance test – The Silver Entrance Test contains questions on the English language and three subjects of Arts/Science/Commerce based on their subject choice. Applicants have to answer 160 MCQs in two and half hours (150 min). To qualify for this test, they have to score a minimum of 64 marks out of 160.
Applicants who qualify for the entrance test by getting 64 marks or more, would be called for the counseling process. Following the document verification, courses are provided based on a student’s academic result, SET Score, and seat availability.
Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses
For admission to the B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc., minimum eligibility criteria are valid scores in 12th examinations in respective streams. And, second is the minimum scoring of 64 out of 169 marks in SET.
Important points for the applicants for UG Courses
• All the students have the compulsion to join NCC/NSS.
• For students’ stay, a college hostel is a must for them.
• Students must have a minimum of 75% attendance. Otherwise, they won’t be allowed to enter the internal and external exams.
Silver Jubilee Government College PG Courses Admission 2022 & Eligibility Criteria
Silver Jubilee Government College offers 2-year post-graduate courses in English, Telugu, Physics, Economics, and Commerce.
Students who have completed their graduation are eligible for admission to PG Courses of this College.
Admission for PG Courses is Merit-based.
Selected students would be called for counseling at the college. The Selection Criteria are based on the applicant’s academic record and seat availability.
