Solution: The molecules in gases are wide apart whereas in liquids they are more closer to each other.

Hence, atmospheric gases can be converted into liquids by bringing their molecules closer to each other.ie, by reducing the intermolecular distance. Which can be done by either decreasing the temperature or increasing the pressure of the gas
