Solution: d) All of the Above
Autotrophic mode of nutrition involves that an organism prepares its own food by utilizing simple inorganic materials. This process is carried out by several organisms; the mechanism is known as photosynthesis in plants. This process involves the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy. In order to carry out photosynthesis, plants require the presence of sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. They contain a pigment called chlorophyll in their chloroplasts which, in presence of the above components, can produce food in the form of glucose, a simple carbohydrate. For this process to occur, all of the substances need to be present.
