POLLUTION INSPECTION BY POLICE BRINGS ABOUT HEAVY TRAFFIC CONGESTIONS.

31st January 2022, Chennai: In line with the latest initiative taken by the Central Pollution Control Board, the Chennai traffic police have launched a special drive to eradicate the vehicles that do not follow the board issued protocols. Check posts have been installed at  various points in a fool-proof manner, and includes heavy penalty for the violaters. However, this initiative has caused a significant amount of distress among the natives of the place. Such a meticulous check of the vehicles is resulting in heavy traffic congestions at important intersections of the city, in turn causing disrupting normal functioning of daily routine. Office workers are reporting late to their duties while school children are having to miss out on their annual examinations due to this fiasco. It has been found out that while responsibilities have increased, the number of traffic staff did not. Hence, the entire department is staggering under the added initiatives. The matter seems to have been taken up on the discussion platform by the authorities and talks of handling the situation are in progress.
