  3. Letter advising a friend/ family
  4. Letter congratulating a friend/ family
  5. Letter expressing regret to a friend/ family

My dear father,

What a relief! Our examination is over today. I am glad to tell you that my hard work, your good wishes and the grace of God have enabled me to fare nicely in the exams. Mostly the paper setters wanted to test the ability of the students. So, the papers were easy for those who studied thoroughly, but difficult for those who had crammed only selected questions.

I have done all the papers nicely and hope to get a high first division. When are you coming back?

Yours lovingly,

Vimal

The wedding party will leave for Agra on 5th December early in the morning. I have invited all my friends. We shall have an amazing time together. Uncle will present his dance and Rajesh will present a melodious tune to the orchestra. It will be a nice occasion to enjoy.

I hope you will not disappoint me.

Kind regards,

Ambala

Dear Deepak,

I have come to know from a friend of yours that you have grown weak and are keeping poor health. You work hard at studies and have become a book- worm. You do not take part in games.

I may tell you that a student must take care of his health also. His mental development should go hand-in-hand.

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. A sound mind lives in a sound body. Games can teach us even more than books do. They can make us active and strong. So, make it a point not to neglect games. Play regularly so that you may do well in studies also.

I hope you will act upon my advice and start taking part in games and other extracurricular activities.

Your loving brother,

Ajay

Dear Kiran,

I have no words to thank you for inviting me on the auspicious occasion of your marriage. I am unlucky to grace this occasion because of pre- pre-medical test already fixed for 29 November, 2021. You know I cannot miss this last chance that luck has provided me to avail. So, it is quite impossible for me to miss my chance. I, therefore, Regret my inability to take part in the celebrations of your marriage. I believe you will excuse me.

May god shower all his blessings on you!

Heartiest congratulations.

Yours lovingly,

Geeta Gupta
