Solution:j: There are three main components of the transport system in human beings:-

  • Heart

  • Blood vessels

  • Blood

Heart: – Heart acts as a pumping organ. the heart pumps oxygenated blood to all the organs and deoxygenated blood to the lungs.

Blood vessels:-The blood vessels are responsible for the transport of blood throughout the human body.

There are three types of blood vessels:

  1. Arteries

  2. Veins

  3. Capillaries

a.Arteries -They are thin and elastic. They carry oxygenated blood from the heart to different parts of the body except for the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs.

b.Veins – They are also thin and elastic. They carry deoxygenated blood from various parts of the body to the heart except for pulmonary veins which carry oxygenated blood.

c.Capillaries -they are the smallest and numerous blood vessels. Capillaries form connections between arteries and veins. The main function of capillaries is the exchange of materials between the blood and tissue cells.

Blood-Blood is a fluid connective tissue that consists of plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Blood helps in the transport of Oxygen, Carbon dioxide, nutrients, and nitrogenous waste.
