Solution:The different ways include processes like natural selection, genetic drift, mutations, variations and sexual selection

Natural selection

  • The process of natural selection first explained by Charles Darwin

  • Natural selection is the process that occurs naturally in which organisms adapt to their environment and survive.

  • This also increases the number of offspring produced by organisms

Genetic drift

  • It is the changes in allele frequencies in a population

  • It happens in small populations by chance

  • The effects caused by genetic drift are strong.

Mutations

  • It is the sudden inheritable changes happen in a population

  • Mutations cause alterations in the sequences of DNA

  • It is very essential for evolutionary processes

  • It happens in a very short time and the effects are strong

Variations

  • Variations are mostly seen in sexually reproducing organisms. In sexual reproduction, DNA copying occurs from both male and female parents, and thus variations pass from parents to their children. In the asexual mode of reproduction, only a single parent is involved

  • In sexually reproducing organisms, variations occur mainly by genetic recombination and mutations

Sexual selection

  • It is the process by which an organism chooses mates for reproduction

  • Selection of sexes occurs among the same species or with other species

  • This also increases reproductive output
