Male reproductive system
The male reproductive system is formed by the testis, scrotum,urinary bladder, penis,prostate gland,seminal vesicle, ureter,urethra, etc.Sperm are small structures that contain genetic material. It is located in the abdominal cavity. Long tails present in the sperm help in easy movement. Production of sperm requires a lower temperature that is lower than the normal body temperature.Testosterone is the hormone produced by testes that is responsible for bringing about changes in boys during puberty. Sperm is transported through the vas deferens.Secretions produced by the seminal vesicle and prostate gland help in the easy transport of sperm and this also provides nutrition.
Hormones of male reproductive system
The main hormones that regulate the function of the male reproductive system include luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and testosterone. LH is the hormone that helps in the formation of testosterone. FSH helps in the maturation of sperm and testosterone is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics in males.
