Margie and Tommy had mechanical teachers instead of human teachers. In comparison with human teachers, mechanical teachers were large, black, and ugly, having large black screens on which lessons and questions were shown. These teachers have a slot in which students have to put upon their homework and their exam papers. Students have to write and submit their answers in punch code language and their marks are calculated immediately by the mechanical teachers.
