Work is said to be done when a force applied to an object moves that object. We can calculate work by multiplying the force by the movement of the object.
W = F × d
Where
F = Applied force
d – distance
The SI unit of work is the joule (J)
Work is done whenever the given conditions are satisfied:
- A force acts on the body.
- There is a displacement of the body caused by the applied force along the direction of the applied force.
