Which is a better mode of reproduction: sexual or asexual? Why?

Answer: Reproduction is a process of production of offspring from the parent body. Asexual and sexual reproduction are two kinds of reproduction.

  • Asexual reproduction is where only one parent is involved while two parents are involved in sexual reproduction.

  • Offsprings produced in asexual reproduction are identical to the parent as only one parent is involved. Hence, there is no variation resulting in low adaptability to changing environmental conditions. 

  • Offsprings of sexual reproduction are not identical to parents as two parents are involved. Hence, some variations are there in the offspring due to the fusion of male and female gametes. This will help them to adapt and survive in the changing environment. 

  • Hence, the sexual mode is the better mode of reproduction in organisms.
