Why is health important?
Health is one in all the foremost important factors for the well-being of humans. Being healthy is a state when humans are free from any sort of mental and physical illness. The state of complete physical, mental and social well-being is named as healthy.
The health of any organism is directly connected with its environment, the food we eat forms the basis for carrying important functions of the body, hence it becomes important to live in a healthy pollution-free environment and consume the right kind and amount of food. Cleanliness must be one’s priority, so care should be taken to maintain proper sewage treatment, because it can cause various diseases. For a healthy life cycle, an individual needs to have a balanced diet, exercise, stay in a clean place, have enough sound sleep, and practice good hygiene.
The health of all organisms will depend upon their environment. The social environment plays a key role in an individual’s health.
Any condition that causes discomfort, pain, abnormal behavior, infections results in a condition called disease. Our health is affected not only by an unbalanced diet but also by diseases, infections, poverty, etc. The diseases are normally caused by external pathogens which intersect the body’s natural barriers and invade our healthy body. Such pathogens can cause havoc to our body if our immune system fails to handle them.
